Road and Footpath closures

Update on A249 Roadworks:

Dear stakeholder,

This is to notify you of the following traffic management plans.

We will be installing three-way traffic lights on Swale Way around Nicholls access from Friday 6 December to Sunday 8 December to enable us carry out surfacing works. The lights will be installed from 7:30 – 5pm each day and will be manually controlled.

A249 northbound mainline (towards Sheppey) to close from 8pm on Wednesday 18 December 2024 until 5am on Thursday 19 December 2024. Diversion for this closure will be up and over the A249 northbound slip roads.

A29 southbound mainline (towards Stockbury) to close from 8pm on Thursday 19 December 2024 until 5am on Friday 20 December 2024. Diversion for this closure will be up and over the A249 southbound slip roads.

Both night closures are to enable us remove traffic management barriers on the A249 mainline for the Christmas Break.

Dear stakeholder,

This is to inform you that we will be closing the A249 northbound entry slip road (towards Sheppey) from 06:00am on Monday 09 December 2024 until 18:00pm on Friday 13 December 2024.

We will remove the restrictions for the weekend and then reinstall the slip closure from 06:00am on Monday 16 December 2024 until 18:00pm on Wednesday 18 December 2024.

During this closure, there will be no access from Iwade village onto the northbound entry slip. Please see diversion route attached.
